Film Review: "If I Forget You"

"If I Forget You"

MGM, 1940 (BW, 3 minutes)

Sometime in 1940 Judy was filmed singing "If I Forget You" - a song dedicated to Will Rogers, commemorating or promoting the Will Rogers Memorial Hospital. There seems to be nothing about this in any of the books or magazines I've read, but there it is. There may well be other shorts that will turn up from time to time, and there may be some that have been lost forever.

Judy looks especially beautiful in this film, and sings wonderfully. The song has a wide range, and at one point, the arrangement jumps up an octave for effect. Judy handles it without a flinch. Let those who say her range was limited listen to this!
