Judy Garland's Homes

The Gumm home in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, as it looks now after relocation and restoration. The house was at the corner of Second and Fourth Streets when occupied by the Gumm family, but it is now at 2727 US Hwy 169 South. The home is open to the public, and there is a gift shop 'round back in the summer kitchen. Judy lived in this house from birth (1922) until 1926.

The Gumm family Lancaster, California home, Located at the corner of Cedar and Oak Streets. The Gumms lived here from the late 1920s until the mid 1930s.

Obviously, the two houses (above and left) are not the same. Looking at the top picture, the house next door looks similar to the house in the lower picture. Could this be the house next door? Each of the persons who submitted these pictures insists that they had the right house. According to one JGDB visitor who wrote in, the Gumm family lived in both houses.
