All of the shows are beautifully restored. The picture is perfect, and the sound is wonderful. The extras are all interesting and fun. This set is fantastic. I only have one complaint: the distribution of the episodes among the various DVDs and box set collections is quite confusing. So I have made up a little chart here that may help. PIONEER ENTERTAINMENT AND CLASSIC WORLD PRODUCTIONS,INC.
PRESENTS THE NEWEST VOLUME OF THE LEGENDARY TELEVISION SERIES

THE JUDY GARLAND SHOW-VOLUME FOUR

Arriving November 21, Exclusive DVD Debut Features Never-Before-Seen Outtakes And Audio Commentary By Director Norman Jewison

LONG BEACH, CA - A legendary performer and American icon, Judy Garland stands alone as the quintessential star of stage and screen. Now, Pioneer Entertainment and Classic World Productions, Inc. present long-lost episodes of Garland's one and only television series exclusively on DVD. The Judy Garland Show-Volume Four includes four never-before-released episodes that originally aired during the 1963-1964 television season. Featuring rare behind-the-scenes outtakes and a commentary by Norman Jewison, the digitally restored and remastered DVD arrives on November 21 for $24.98.

Judy Garland's only weekly TV series was the biggest news of the 1963-64 television season. The 41-year-old Garland was at the peak of her career with her Grammy-winning Album Of The Year "Judy at Carnegie Hall," the corresponding sellout tour of 40 concerts, her Academy Award-nominated performance in "Judgment at Nuremberg," and a TV special with fellow "Rat Pack" members Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, which brought CBS its highest rating to date. The network thus signed "the original diva" to a deal worth an unprecedented $24 million, and her premiere broadcast won both rave reviews as well as its time slot against the top-rated "Bonanza." Unquestionably, "The Judy Garland Show" captured its star at her physical and vocal prime.

The Judy Garland Show-Volume Four includes:

* Four complete episodes with Judy and her guests: singer Vic Damone, film star Louis Jourdan (Gigi), television star George Maharis ("Route 66") and jazz singer Robert Cole. Also featured are comedian Jack Carter, series regular Jerry Van Dyke and the Hollywood Home Movies of Ken Murray, showing the world's greatest stars at work and at play. Two of the four episodes are hour-long concerts with Judy singing for most of the program.

* Rare, behind-the-scenes outtakes-never before broadcast-including one concert show in which outtakes are kept within the body of the show. This inclusion gives viewers a sense of experiencing her performance live with golden examples of her unmatched wit as she masters challenging material through different takes of certain songs.

* Audio commentary with famed director Norman Jewison (Moonstruck), who shares memories of the eight shows that he executive produced and insights into working with the original diva.

* Newly created 5.1 Surround Sound and original mono audio tracks.

* Digitally restored and remastered from the original 2" videotapes.

The Judy Garland Show-Volume Four follows the highly successful and critically acclaimed release of last year's The Judy Garland Show Collection, which was awarded Best Overall Presentation (non-theatrical) by the Video Software Dealers Association (VSDA). This new volume fits conveniently into the existing Collection's "trunk" box along with additional volumes planned for release in 2001 which will complete the collection with every episode of the series.

Here's a sample of what critics have had to say about The Judy Garland Show on DVD since their debut in 1999:

"The greatest DVD set of the year, possibly ever" -- USA Today
"A high quality record of the legend at the peak of her abilities" -- TV Guide
"A full-bodied collection in its own right" - Billboard
"Judy at the peak of her latter-day performing style" -- Liz Smith
"Her tremendous talent lives on" -- Los Angeles Times
"Garland's best segments still rattle the rafters, especially in 5.1 channel sound" -- Entertainment Weekly
"The adult Judy, raw and riveting ... It's the DVD event of the year" -- Rolling Stone
