Director: Abe Levitow

A Meowvelous Animated Treat That's in Fabulously Fine Voice

Magnificent: that's the voice of Judy Garland. Magnifique: that's this charming animated musical with the great Garland in one of her final roles. She's the voice of Mewsette, a French country cat who goes to Paris in the Gay '90s. Robert Goulet vocalizes Jaune Tom, her devoted country-bumpkin beau, and Red Buttons, Hermione Gingold and Paul Frees add their distinctive sounds to other delightful and/or devious felines.

Written by Dorothy and Chuck Jones, Gay Purr-ee boasts eight original tunes by The Wizard of Oz Oscar winners Harold Arlen and E. y. Harburg. "Take My Hand, Paree," Mewsette sings in one of the film's happiest moments. Take Gay Purr-ee and savor a delectable French bonbon of fabulous family fun.
