1995 Sky Kids
Oz Toddler Dorothy
This Dorothy Doll, distributed by Sky Kids, is another import made in China. She was released as part of the Oz Toddlers series just before the Christmas season in 1995. The series includes Dorothy, Tinman, Scarecrow, Lion, Glinda and Wicked Witch, all sold seperately. I thought they were so cute, I bought the entire set!
They are called "Wizard of Oz Toddlers", and all look like young children. They are all 10" tall and really cute! I think Dorothy is especially cute; so much so that I bought a second one to keep at work. She has a cloth body with vinyl legs, arms and head. She has reddish-brown hair, and huge brown eyes that look quite real. She has knee-length bloomers with lace trim, but no petticoat. She has blue cloth stockings and red "Mary Jane" style plastic shoes.
She comes with a plastic Toto and straw basket. She doesn't look at all like Judy, but she is really adorable. I found all of these dolls at Toys-R-Us. They sold for $9.95 each, a real bargain!
